BioTech 2005 ~ Farmers Speak Out
and the Really Free Market

Opposition to GMO's mount at the BioTech Conference Welcome Reception

This was filmed at the Really Really Free Market... it's really free because people really give stuff away. Food Not Bombs, fed people, but that's nothing new for them... it's what they do.. feed hungry people for free off the waste of corporate glutiny. I gave out about 20 Fluxview News DVDs.

Through out the day Farmers took the mic to explain why Genetically Modified Food is bad for us and all living things. We're rapidly approaching the point of no return with Genetically Modified Food and most people don't have a clue... I didn't.

I listened to Marly Hornik, a GMO activist singer songwriter, perform twice at the BioTech events and cried both times. The song at the end of this video seems to speak to my own self doubts and constant self evaluation. It's about living your lifes path, about the path with an uncertain future, about courage and the lack there of and persevering to do what must be done. ... at least that's what it means to me.

A very well written blog. Keep it up ...

Hi there

Apologies for posting an off topic question here.

I am inviting your views on ABORTION in order to present a case to help those in the developing world.

I personally see abortion as a NECESSARY EVIL and that unwanted pregnancy is not only a personal problem and it is also a very real problem for the society at large.

Do you think it is right to burden say a 15 years old school-going girl with a new life when she is yet to have any economic mean to sustain herself and obviously, most girls of her age are not mentally ready for a family life. Furthermore, is it fair to rob her of her career, aspiration, dream etc., in the name of preserving a life that is yet to be fully developed?

If you have an opinion, please email it to me at divinetalk@gmail.com or if you wish, you may post your comment here: Your Opinion Counts!

How odd, why would you intentionally do something you have to apologize for? Maybe it shouldn't be done if it requires an apology.

I appreciate your interest in my opinion on this issue. However, I will delete your comment if anyone responds to your Off Topic queston here.

I feel the abortion issue is often disruptive to any meaningful discussion of other issues. On issues where too many people are likely to agree; abortion is often brought up divided otherwise agreeable people. I'm not accusing you of this intent... I'm just saying I won't let it happen here.

There are plenty of blogs that deal with the abortion issue. You may want to do a http://www.scroogle.org search for abortion blogs where you will find many people who wish to argue about it.
