Percy Schmeiser has been growing canola for 40 years. He's been experimenting, developing his own varieties, using his own seed. Then Monsanto, the giant multinational agro-chemical company that is at the forefront of developing genetically modified foods, accused him of patent infringement and demanded restitution for its seeds. They stole his plants, seeds & research because of cross pollenation with GMO plants that other people had planted within pollenaton range. If GMO's touch your crops... Monsanto owns your crop and will sue you. Pollenation is not containable. "I never put those plants on my land," says Schmeiser. "The question is, where do Monsanto's rights end and mine begin?"

Percy gives a full account of the specific alegations and breaks down the facts about GMO's in this 13 minute video.

Did you watch the video? How about the newer farmer speak out video? If these doesn't scare the crap out of you then nothing I can say will either.

As far as givin ya something to research ... I did. There are related links on each post that you can use to find specific facts and supporting documents.

I didn't know much about GMO's until I went to this protest. But basically what I learned is that we are about to let a private corporation legally OWN life as we know it. The Monsanto "decision" let's them claim ownership of ANY lifeform that possess their gene... their FrankenGene is designed to be dominent... cross pollenation is unstopable... there is the potential for Monasanto to claim ownership of all live forms including you or I...

I'm not down with that.

One word... evolution.

We are what we eat, plain and simple. It may take thousands of years of eating gm food but I ask you to consider something, what will we become?

You can't fuck with Mother Nature man, how many times do we have to learn that lesson?

Peace
